One thing is trending is page speed. However, does one have to minimize logo and image designs to have faster page loads, or is there another solution? Faster web-hosting would be a good investment. Good ones are Godaddy.com 1&1, Domain Tower, and Brain host. Keywords are not the key anymore, however surrounded by fresh and engaging content will help one keep a following and build relationships.
